Peoria Rescue Ministries mission is to serve and glorify God through a Christ-centered outreach of love that responds to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of hurting men, women, and children in our area.
Ways to Volunteer
- Men's Emergency Services
- Peoria Rescue Mission exists to reach homeless and needy men with the gospel of Jesus Christ, while providing for their physical needs with food, clothing and shelter.
- Men's EXCEL Recovery Programs
- For men who deal with issues related to addiction, abuse, homelessness, re-entry from prison, or challenging life choices, our long-term recovery programs offer the opportunity to heal and develop a positive life change.
- Women's Recovery Program
- Our long-term residential recovery program offers hope for women who have experienced abuse, incarceration, addiction, homelessness, and/or emotional and spiritual wounds. This is accomplished by addressing their painful and destructive issues and providing the skills needed for a positive life change.
- Pregnancy & Parenting Services
- The Women's Pregnancy Center is a Christian, pro-life ministry existing for the purpose of presenting the love and gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed. All of our services are free of charge and confidential.
- Services Include: Pregnancy tests Sonography for pregnancy verification Limited STI screening Lamaze & parenting classes Maternity & baby clothing Education about pregnancy, fetal development, & abortion alternatives relationship mentoring referrals for medical care, adoption, foster care, legal & financial assistance
- Biblical Counseling.
- Since many issues stem from problems with family and personal relationships, Peoria Rescue Ministries established the Barnabas Center to fulfill the need for Biblical counseling. Clients who are mentally, emotionally and spiritually discouraged can openly share their fears, hurts and difficulties and receive discerning Biblical wisdom.
- Membership is held in the American Association of Christian Counselors.
- Marriage, family, and individual counseling are available.
- Counseling services include: Pre-marriage & marriage Family & parenting issues for all ages.
- Business & Inter-Personal Relationships
- The Peoria Rescue Ministries' Thrift Store offers donated goods for resale at a greatly reduced cost. Items being offered for resale may include clothing, furniture, appliances, toys and house wares. The sale of these items helps support the work of Peoria Rescue Ministries.
