Are you good with your hands? Like working outside and don't mind getting a little messy? Then this is the volunteer opportunity for you! On August 19th Central Illinois FRIENDS will be hosting a Community Clean-Up Day at our new LGBTQ+ Community Center from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. We'll be pulling weeds, raking leaves, and mowing the lawn to make sure our Community Center is as pretty as can be!
Please note that these activities will be outside and may require acts of physical fitness that some may find difficult. Central Illinois FRIENDS will be providing water, N-95 masks, and bug spray, but we ask that all volunteers take the necessary precautions needed to stay safe. At the time of this posting, the Accuweather forecast reports a high of 79 with a RealFeel of 87, however, please keep in mind that this may change.
To protect yourself from stinging plants like poison ivy, please wear a long sleeve shirt, long pants, and close-toed shoes.
