Too often, many of us take for granted that we have a winter coat to put on and zip up as we head out the door on cold, and sometimes snowy, mornings! There are many children and adults who don't always have the resources to purchase a winter coat, but The Salvation Army wants to be sure that no child or adult is left cold this Winter season.
Through The Salvation Army's Coats for Kids program, coats for children and adults are collected to distribute to those in need in the community... BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED TO...
- Help sort donated coats by gender and size
- Help set up coat racks and tables for coat distribution
- Help hang up coats on coat racks
This is a one-day volunteer opportunity at The Salvation Army's Corps Community Center located at 2903 W. Nebraska Ave. in Peoria. We will begin coat sorting at 9 a.m., and continue until all coats have been sorted.
Please note: This activity will take place in a gymnasium, so social distancing will not be an issue. Face masks are required, and all volunteers will be required to have their temperature taken and fill out a COVID-19 Screening Tool form upon arrival.
