Volunteers are needed to assist with set up and preparation for our annual Toy Shop and Food Box Distribution on Thursday, December 14th and Saturday, December 16th and Monday, December 18th!
To ensure that our Annual Toy Shop and Food Box Distribution is successful, we rely on the support of volunteers! Volunteers will be assisting with the following tasks:
- Unloading/loading toys from trailers and vehicles
- Sorting and organizing toys
- Stocking toys to tables
- Breaking down boxes
- Putting up decorations for the toy shop
- Assisting with final "cleaning" (sweeping, vacuuming, etc.)
Shift times have been broken down into 2 hour time slots. Volunteers are welcome to sign up for multiple time shifts.
Please plan to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your volunteer shift time to allow plenty of time for check in and volunteer instructions. You will be assigned to a specific role upon your arrival.
Location: Toy Shop and Food Box Distribution will take place at our Toy Warehouse in Peoria this year. The specific address will be shared with you after you have signed up and your volunteer assignment has been confirmed.
Parking: Parking will be in the parking lot directly in front of the building.
Dress: Please dress modestly and comfortably - Christmas attire is encouraged!
*If possible, please leave all personal belongings including your purse/wallet locked in your car or at home. We will have a private area for volunteer and Salvation Army staff coats.
*Food and drinks will be available for you to enjoy prior to your volunteer shift start time or following your volunteer shift.
