Our Garden is Growing!
We are expanding our Sow to Grow Community Garden onto two adjacent vacant lots. The expansion will add an area approximately 90 x 110 feet in size and will include a substantial green space for the public to gather with a large butterfly garden as a central focal point. The expanded garden will also include the addition of a greenhouse to extend the growing season, permanent benches and tables to create an outdoor classroom, a stepping stone pathway that meanders through the space to encourage exploration, flowers for beautification, new fruit trees and fruit bushes, and additional raised beds for vegetables, flowers and herbs.
Volunteers are need to help with building and filling new raised beds, spreading mulching and more!
Volunteers should wear masks and bring work gloves. Some additional shovels and wheelbarrows would also be helpful.
