Join Us in Supporting Local Seniors by Distributing Farmers Market Coupons!
The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP), which is funded by the USDA, aims to support low-income seniors by providing vouchers for the purchase of fresh, locally sourced fruits, vegetables, honey, and herbs at farmers' markets and roadside stands. Our organization is vital in facilitating the distribution of these vouchers.
Volunteer Opportunities
We are seeking volunteers to assist with the following tasks:
Conducting sign-ups
Gathering necessary eligibility information
Entering data into our software system
Distributing coupons to eligible participants
Handing out program materials and informational brochures
We have volunteer openings for the following dates:
June 29th, full day from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
June 30th from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
July 1st from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM
July 2nd from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM
July 6th and 7th are reserved for large group appointments with apartment complexes,
July 6th available all day
July 7th afternoon only
July 8th is planned as an extra distribution day from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
The key skills required for this role include adhering to established program guidelines, proficiency with technological tools, comfort and ease in interactions with seniors, and a willingness to address and clarify any questions or concerns.
