Each Christmas Season, The Salvation Army works hard to ensure that families in need get to experience the joy of the Christmas Season. With the generous support of the community, The Salvation Army helps to distribute coats, toys, and food to people in need in the Peoria-area community.
The Salvation Army hosts "Christmas Sign-Up's" which allows for those in need to come and sign up for Christmas Assistance (toys, food, etc.)
Volunteers are needed to help with the process of Christmas Sign-Up's. Here is additional information about the volunteer activity:
- Volunteers will help individuals fill out the Christmas Assistance form.
- Volunteers will help to distribute coats to families in need during Christmas Sign-Up's.
- Christmas Sign-Up's will take place over a 4 day period (November 1st, November 2nd, November 3rd and November 5th)
- Volunteers will be asked to commit to a minimum of a 2 hour volunteer shift. (If interested, volunteers can sign up for multiple shifts).
- COVID-19 guidelines are put in place in our facility to ensure the safety of our volunteers. (Volunteers are required to complete a COVID-19 Volunteer Screening Tool form before entering our facility. The form is attached for your review).
