Support an event that is all about family!
On July 4th Le Vieux Carre Park (across from the State Street Post Office and Kelleher's in downtown Peoria), Boys and Girls Clubs provides families with a worry-free Independence Day Celebration with parking, reserved viewing spot for fireworks, live music, children's games and an all you can eat food court. Guests bring blankets and chairs while volunteers do all the rest.
Lead Roles
The person selected for a Lead Role will 'own' a segment of the event. They will lead a group of volunteers for their segment. Onboarding will take place prior to the event. After the event, the Lead will have the opportunity to work with the co-chairs to take their leadership experience for resume building and job interview questions. Lead roles need to be filled by May 1st!

Volunteer Opportunities: Commitment of 4-hours reporting to one of the above Lead roles
1. July 4: Part of a small team to manage inbound inventory. # Of volunteers needed: 2
2. July 4, 9 am - noon+: Part of a dynamic team to set up tables/tents and inventory for each booth. # Of volunteers needed: 12
3. July 4, 4:30 – 8:30 pm: Four-hour shifts working at one of the food or popcorn booths or managing the game events or assisting the event organizers or managing parking. # Of volunteers needed: 12
4. July 4, Post Fireworks: Part of a dynamic team to take down the event in a safe and organized manner. # Of volunteers needed: 12
5. July 5, Part of a small team for inventory management. # Of volunteers needed: 2
Volunteers who work for a shift receive one free admission which includes sandwiches, chips, soda, drinks and treats. Wine or beer available for purchase.
