The Salvation Army Needs Your Help!

Volunteers are needed to help unload, unpack and sort food for our upcoming Food Box Packing Activity. Join us on Wednesday, June 14th from 12 pm  - 3 pm at our Salvation Army location in Pekin, IL for this volunteer activity. 

• This is a great opportunity for groups - encourage your friends, family, co-workers, classmates, etc. to sign up for this activity with you!
• You will make a real difference - The food you will be helping to unload, unpack and sort will go into boxes that will be distributed to families in need at The Salvation Army's Summer Food Box Distribution Events in Peoria.
• Volunteers should be able to comfortably lift 35 lbs. The activity will require bending and lifting. 
• Activity specifics: Volunteers will help to unload boxes of food from the trailer and carry into the gymnasium for sorting. Volunteers will also assist with opening/unpacking the food and sorting it by product to prepare for packing.

Please note: This volunteer activity takes place at our Pekin, IL location but these food boxes will be distributed at a later date in June to families in need in 2 different food desert areas in our Peoria community.

After you sign up for this volunteer activity, the Volunteer Coordinator will reach out to you to confirm that you are added to the volunteer list. Once you have responded to the volunteer need on this site, you will need to complete another form for The Salvation Army. The Volunteer Coordinator will send you the link to the additional form.
