The Lewis J. Burger Center for Leadership and Service, Fraternity and Sorority Life and Student Activities are partnering with Heart of Illinois United Way to facilitate a Poverty Simulation. This event is open to all students, faculty, and staff and is designed to help participants begin to understand what it might be like to live as a typical low-income family trying to survive from month to month. We emphasize that his event is a simulation, not a game. The object is to sensitize participants to the realities faced by many low-income individuals and families.
Participants must be prepared to stay the entire duration of the simulation.
